Kate Joyce
Caucus Endorsed
An Experienced Board Member and Savvy Business Woman
"My passions around doing good for people and the planet will continue to drive the questions I pose to the administration. My ultimate goal as an elected School Board member is to simplistically be one of seven community members that are invested in the betterment of our kids and put in the work to make sure it happens."
Kate Joyce is a proud Deerfield High School alumna and parent of two Wilmot students. Kate is a current member of the D109 School Board, and was selected by the Board of Education to fill the seat vacated when Maureen Wener unexpectedly passed away. Kate brings a wealth of business experience and a passion for public education to the school board. Her Corporate Social Responsibility and Change Management work at Veolia demonstrates her leadership abilities and her dedication to excellence
“I’m humbled and appreciative of the Caucus’s School Board endorsement. Deerfield is a wonderful place to grow up and raise a family, and our community expects educational excellence along with fiscal responsibility,” said Kate. "I'm honored to be a part of Deerfield Public School District 109, where the true focus is teaching and learning, both academically and social-emotionally, for all students, staff, and families we serve. "
When asked about major issues facing District 109, Kate stated, "If endorsed and elected, I plan to actively participate in Community Road Shows and events explaining the importance of new schools to our residents. It's not acceptable to send our kids to school requiring them to wear hats, coats and gloves in the classroom because the indoor school building temperature nearly matches Chicago's frigid outdoor weather."
