An Advocate for Educational Equity
“I will work hard to help drive our mission of ensuring students are academically and socially prepared for what follows. With a background in finance, I will also do my part to ensure we are thoughtful and responsible in how money is raised and spent in our District, and that we are planning not only for today but the decades to come.”
David Murav is the father of two children, one currently at Wilmot Elementary School and one that will join her sibling at Wilmot in 2026. He has lived in Deerfield for nearly 3 years.
David highlighted his passion for education, "My father was on the School Board my entire childhood, and witnessing his impact on the community and our education system was extremely impactful to me. Additionally, I have had a passion for education my entire life and have been searching for the best ways to leverage my skills to help the next generation succeed. I tutored at a young age and was involved in Teach for America (at the Auxiliary Board level) early on in my career."
David's professional experience gives him an ease with financials and building strategies. "As a Partner at LaSalle Capital, I sit on numerous boards of private companies, helping them derive strategies and a vision for the near and long term. I have helped build teams to execute on those strategies and understand the role of a Board in achieving long term success." He stated, "It is imperative that we don’t rest on our success but keep striving for ways to continuously improve so that we can remain in a position of strength for decades to come."
