Sari Montgomery has lived in Riverwoods for 12
years and has a seventh-grade daughter at Caruso Middle School, and two sons at
DHS. She is seeking re-election to the District 109 School Board because she is
passionate about ensuring that we provide a world-class education for the
children of our District. She believes that her experiences both within and
outside of the District will enable her to continue to contribute to the
continued growth of all the District’s students In her first term on the board, Sari, who currently serves as Board Secretary and Chair of the Finance Committee, has also been a member of the Executive Development and Policy Committees. She was a board representative on the Superintendent’s Task Force for Middle Level Education, and participated in the selection process for administrative staff. She is proud
of the great progress the District has made in the past four years in all areas,
but recognizes that there is always room for improvement. "I am excited about
the new initiatives and direction the district will be pursuing as part of its
new strategic plan, and will work to ensure that it does so in a transparent
and fiscally responsible manner," Sari said. Sari is an attorney with a practice focused on legal ethics and
professional responsibility. In addition, she has taught as an Adjunct
Professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She is also a member of
several local, state and national professional organizations and recently served
as the Chair of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Committee on Professional
Conduct, which drafts ethics opinions on a wide variety of legal issues for the
association’s 30,000 members. In addition to her professional work and service
on the DPS 109 Board, Montgomery
continues to serve on the boards of several local nonprofit organizations that
focus on providing services to children and families Sari earned a B.A. in public policy from the University of Chicago and her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago. In her spare time, she and her husband, Mike, enjoy spending time with family, watching their children’s sporting events and music performances, reading, and travel. |
